Great Writer's Website

Writer websites are too often bland (i.e., my own website). But this one is great. Go Miranda July!

Kiss MySpace Goodbye!!!

I deleted my MySpace account, because I hate MySpace. And no, I don't want a Facebook account!!! I hate all these stupid accounts. I can't wait for this fad to die.

Clockfire

I've been lucky lately, got a SSHRC grant to finish putting me through school and just recently was awarded an arts grant from the AFA to write a book of prose/plays/poems called Clockfire. The book is a series of prose poem instructions for plays that would be impossible or at least unfeasible to produce (in the title poem the actors "sneak behind the audience and set the theatre on fire"). Best summer job I've ever had. Way better than working the night shift at Robin's Donuts in downtown Winnipeg.

Cosby!!!

Just to prove that people are weird, I went out and bought a rhinoceros. —Bill Cosby

Mandy and I just bought tickets to go see Cosby, in Edmonton, in October. He is here tonight in Calgary, but she can't go with me tonight, being in Saskatchewan. Cosby will be great. Excellent comedian. I love stand-up comedy, wanted to be a stand-up when I was younger, and Cosby is one of my heroes. Recently listening to Orny Adams, his DVD/CD pair The Path of Most Resistance, is definitely worth your money and time. You may remember Orny from the Comedian documentary a few years ago. Anyway, I'm excited about Cosby, and also about Mandy coming to visit for May long.

The Saga of the Dirty Stick

Apparently AlbertaViews wants to reprint my blog posting about the dirty stick/bus stop near my apartment. Peter Norman called to say that this publication "sadly comes without payment, but perhaps comes with untold amounts of glory." Now if I can only get the New Yorker to columnize my Haiku Horoscopes, I will have it made.
